Flickering Soy Candles came about from a want to have a non-toxic, fragrant candle. After research into soy as a base for candles, it was immediately obvious that this was indeed an amazing product. After 9 months of intense research into making the perfect candle (i.e. correct amount of fragrance yet still getting a long burn time), Flickering Soy Candles was born.
These amazing hand made Flickering Soy Candles burn longer, smell for longer and don’t emit any black soot or toxins.
Because Flickering Soy Candles do not contain any unnecessary chemical additives or chemical stabilisers to whiten the soy, variations in the colouring will occur. That’s why the shades of Flickering Soy Candles are a natural reflection of the fragrant oils we use. No two Hand Made Flickering Soy Candles will be exactly the same.
Why Flickering Soy Candles?
Life changes and so does our society. In much earlier days many products were developed before they were fully tested and tried. The consequences to that can be seen all around our Globe. Where once DDT was a well used and effective form of pesticide, it is now banned in all Developed countries. Cigarette smokers were the norm, not the minority as they are today. Lead was used in paint, whales were fished to almost extinction and man used as much oil as he could without thought of the future.
Well nowdays people are thinking about the future. They are wondering what is going to happen to our world and its oil supplies.
Flickering is just a small company based in Busselton Western Australia. After much research into candles and their makeup, Flickering decided to do what little it could in keeping things right for the future.
Soy is a part of that future and is an amazing product with imensely diverse uses. Soy comes from the Soya Bean and as such is a completely renewable product. When processed it can be used in its 100% natural form as an oil for making Soy Candles.
And that is exactly what Flickering does. Flickering takes the highest Cosmetic Grade soy and makes it into the most exquisite candles you will find. Each candle is lovingly hand made in Western Australia. Unlike paraffin candles, Flickering Soy Candles have a better scent throw as the lower burn temperature gently releases the scent. This lower burn temperature also means they burn for much longer than paraffin. Flickering Soy Candles burn cleaner and are bio degradable, so not only is this good for the environment but jars and spills wash out in warm soapy water. Jars can be recycled and used in many ways around the home.
